We have a number of opportunities for villagers to get involved around the village.  Please see below for the current volunteers needed.

COMMUNITY TRANSPORT

We have set up a register of villagers who would be willing to act as volunteers to drive and assist any residents who need help to get to post offices and or shops etc, as although we do have a bus service it is not that frequent and some people cannot access the bus.

However, although we do need to know if we have any volunteers, and indeed we already do have a couple of names on the register, we need to know if the service is required by the villagers.   So if you would like to be a volunteer driver or indeed can volunteer other services please contact Ruth Redgate, the Parish Clerk.

If you think you would be interesting in using the service or indeed you have a requirement for a different service, or would like further information please again please contact Ruth    any approaches will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Many thanks to those who have added their names to the register of volunteers.

BEST KEPT VILLAGE

The Parish Council will decided at its meeting in February whether to enter the competition this year.  In order to assist with the entry this year we are looking for volunteers to assist with the various roles that are required as part of the entry.  If you are willing to be part of this, even in a small way such as keeping part of your location clean and tidy, please let Polly Embury know (or any other Parish Councillors)

FLOWER TUBS

For a number of years Florascape have very kindly handled these for the village and our thanks go to Anita and Mike for this.  However, from this year they are unable to continue with this service.  So we are looking for villagers to donate plants/money, or to care for a tub by either planting/ weeding etc.  Interested?  Then please contact John Robotham or any other Parish Councillor.  Parish Council and Elford Hall Gardens have contributed some funds towards the planting and upkeep of the tubs.
